Annelieke Veenendaal graduated from Leiden University in 2011 after studying English Language and Culture for six years. After acquiring her Bachelor's degree (including the minor Translations), she decided to persue a two-year master programme in order to specialse further in the fields of Language Acquisition and Legal Translation.
During her studies, Annelieke has followed an (voluntary) internship at a local translation agency. After she had successfully finished her studies, this agency hired her as project/office manager and translator. Through her work at this agency, Annelieke is very familiar with the field of translation and allowed her to be actively working in her line of expertise, both during work hours as in her spare time as a freelancer. In 2011, Annelieke was sworn in as a translator Dutch-English/English-Dutch at the District Court of the Hague. This means her translations meet the quality standard necessary for a stamp of approval offered by the District Court. In the menu under 'Quality' you can read what this procedure fully entails.
There are always new fields of expertise to explore and therefore, Annelieke has taken various courses after graduating from Leiden University. In 2011, she followed an expert course on Legal Translation regarding Criminal Law at the SIGV institute as well as an medical/pharmaceutical translation course provided by translation agency Medilingua.
TransLegal Translations is now the proud partner of Leiden University Medical Centre and has produced a patient brochure concerning irritable bowel diseases. From 5 Januari, the brochure will be available in both English as well as Dutch.
